M. Phil Special Education (Weekend)

Program Vision         

Realizing the importance of education for children with disabilities, the research oriented program of M. Phil special education is being offered in ISP to train teachers for catering the needs of special students in Southern Punjab. This is a great milestone in the history of the ISP, as M. Phil Special Education is the pioneer post-graduate program in the field of special education in Southern Punjab where training of special education teachers and professionals is being offered. At present, there is no institution in this vast geographical area of Southern Punjab offering M. Phil program in this market-oriented subject. This program covers all the specializations with particular emphasis to facilitate mainstreaming of special children. Parents of the special children can also get admission to this program.

  • Togive a solid foundation in research, policy and pedagogy to professionals in special education
  • To develop a practical understanding and relevant skills required for professionals in special education.
  • To develop research expertise and critical thinking to review education practices at macro level such as educational policies, funding and quality assurance in education.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants for M. Phil Special Education must possess a degree of MA special education, BS special education, MA education, BS education and equivalent degree at least with (45%) 2nd Division in annual system and 50% marks CGPA 2.0 out of 4 in semester system. The applicants having MA/M.Ed./BS in Special Education will be given priority.
  • The applicants will have to qualify either Departmental Admission Test with at least 60% marks or NTS (GAT-General) with at least 50% marks.
  • Admission to M. Phil Special Education will be made on merit as per approved criteria of qualification/test/interview laid down by the Department/Institute.

M. Phil Education (Weekend)

Program Vision

M. Phil Education is a research oriented program. This program is aimed at developing research skills among students to foster a critical awareness of educational research, concepts, theories and debates related to education. M. Phil Program is designed to prepare scholars, who have academic and professional grasp in the field of Education. This program also provides opportunity of professional growth to the scholars in general and in-service personnel in particular. It also serves the objectives of developing research potential as well as promoting research activities in the various areas of specialization.

Program Vision

This program is designed for students who wish to pursue leadership roles at the different levels within educational organizations. The candidates will learn to manage organizations and develop solutions to issues in the field of education. They will be able to apply research skills in the classroom and institutions and will use latest approaches to education. After the successful completion of this program, the candidates can work as school teachers, administrators, instructional supervisors, subject specialists in higher secondary schools as well as lectures in colleges and universities.
