I am delighted to see the contributions made in the field of education by the private sector institutions in the Punjab. Although the Institute of Southern Punjab (ISP) is not a very old institution yet is progressing at a fast pace and, I am confident, would soon find place amongst leading educational institutions of the province.

With a view to accelerate the progress in the Education Sector, the Government adopted the policy of encouraging the private sector to come forward to establish institutions of higher learning and research. No doubt, such private institutions have been recognized the world over, as an important component of social services to the community.

Let me reiterate that ISP like all other private sector institutions is endowed with a sober obligation to maintain academic excellence by introducing education system based on latest concepts. Inspiring job oriented education. And laying a well-placed focus on research. The management of ISP is expected to be mindful of the need to equip the students with such knowledge that would enable them to make their mark in the highly competitive world by nurturing in them the qualities of vision, initiative and hard work. As it is known, ISP with the collaboration of its sister universities, both local and foreign, shall endeavor incessantly for the development of its infrastructure, curriculum and teaching methodologies in order to meet the needs of present day Pakistan.

On the start of fresh academic session, I congratulate the Institute of Southern Punjab, its faculty and management and wish a fulfilling and inspiring academic career to the new entrants.
